I can has shower!

Good gods, the shower is finally fitted. After eighteen months of grumbling, wrecking, framing, flooring, plumbing, nogging, tiling and mosty prevaricating, slacking and stalling it's in. There's hot wet coming out of the hot wet end and going down the gurgly end, and tiles anna curtain and everything.

No more pool showers. No more bloody pikey flannel-cleansing arrangements (though come the apocalypse, I'll be smugly keeping beautifully clean on four litres of sun-warmed rainwater, for I has Teh Knack now). Bliss.

Bliss, and that lovely feeling you get when a fettle or a project finally comes together and you can say, "I am in control of my environment! Behold the power I wield! I am a member of a tool-using species capable of planning and executing shit and not just on the bloody internet! Today, basic plumbing facilities! Tomorrow, the World! Bwahaha!"

I really should lay the floor next...

That's the old one. There's still plenty of time to get all nerdy -- but for now, my mucky carcass and the credit crunch say "waste not, want not, get on with it!"
