Ottery flash floods

The colleague with the weather station confirms: 120mm of rain overnight and critically, 43mm in one hour, which is the "flash" in "flash flood".  That's a conservative estimate, as hail bounces out.  The flashness of the flood caused cars and a shed to be washed into the storm culvert , which impaired drainage, and so on, and so on.  The Met Office are cheerfully using the word "freak" to describe this one, as it was even smaller and wackier than Boscastle.  The event had a scale of a couple of square miles, which puts it thoroughly below the useful resolution of Met (or anyone's) models.
