Busy weekend!

Gauged out my lobe to 6mm; train to London avec pennyfarthing; fettled up a borrowed Trice Ice Q recumbent trike (mostly "ooh, what's this?"); kip and existential Spice Girls nightmare; FNRTTC to Whitstable featuring hilarious speed, bonkers cornering, and a surprising lack of fear (but wheel-arch spray ew); meeting another penny person; Smithfield Nocturne criterium race (part of the Rapha series, good fun, lots of fakenger fashion fixies); beer!; grokking pennyfarthing riding courtey of the lovely C; working out what was wrong with my penny; planning how to save civilization from itself; resisting the urge to buy a "Teslatron" violet wand; and lashings of tea!

*puff, gasp*

I have recumbutt.  :)

The joy of triking: Do you take the roadkill squelch up the left arm, the right arm, or dead centre - hoping it doesn't come over the top of the rear wheel and land on your head...?

You a darksider yet, or just dipping the toes?

Left arm - it was a gutterbunny.

I'm not convinced. There's a souplesse that I'm lacking which made pedalling quite tiring, and while the engineering is awesome, the "tunnel of hedge" view was less than inspiring.

Anyway, my tattoo is upside down on bents. ;)

Fun to borrow and play with, but I'm not jumping into that tribe the way I did with fixies and the whole "ooh, hip action" thing.

Recumbent legs - it took me about the first 1000 miles before it really clicked, but for me it was either that, or continue the diet of ibuprofen and winter madness.

Hrmmm... I'll sort out the pennyfarthing legs first :)
