Swim woot!

Just did my first continuous mile in the pool.  Stoked!

Did you sauna afterwards though? ;-)

If only, no, I jumped back on my bike and finished the trip to work in soggy tri shorts!

Gods but I've been HUNGRY all day though. I may have to increase my projected food intake for the HIM.

how many lengths is that?

64. Well done Gates.

Ta muchly :)

Interesting fact: my 39 minutes for one mile contrasts with the Olympic open water folks' 2 hours for 6 miles. They're going TWICE AS FAST. Bloody hell they're good.

Was almost tempted to enter the Burgh Island swim, about a mile of open water near here, but we're going to be surfing instead. :D

Well done Andy! It's much easier than swimming in the pool in Tignes, isn't it?

I blame the altitude! :)

[identity profile] jonnycowbells.livejournal.com 2008-08-28 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Turns out it's 25m, not 20. I guess everything looks smaller at altitude as well...

[identity profile] andygates.livejournal.com 2008-08-28 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
But it felt shorter! I'm *sure* there were fewer strokes to get across it!

[identity profile] fialta.livejournal.com 2008-08-28 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I know the answer to this one - the lanes were across the pool, as there was no shallow end where we were swimming but there was a shallow end where al the kids were (next to the slide)!!!

Really? So we couldn't even swim widths at that altitude? :o
