I've been meaning to do the Ramadan fast for a few years now. Usually it creeps up on me or I'm having a carb-dependent year; this year I seem to have broken the bread-monkey's back and was notified in time. Damn tricksy lunar calendar. The pre-dawn brekkie will mean I'm up early enough to train, too, which is a bonus. Whether I find myself consumed with holiness, well, that's a whole other thing - but it'll be nice to draw on the mojo of a gazillion other people doing the same thing at the same time, in case my cube-mates come round with cheese scones!
Sunrise about 7am, sunset about 7pm this week (anyone would think it was equinox or something). I can do that.

Speaking of which, what does your training look like? Since getting back from hols, I've been ill and only managed a few runs, so this week is my first back on the wagon so to speak

Training is going to look like a mix of bike commutes and the nice longer loops round here; two or three pool trundles a week; a couple of weights sessions (just started my oly programme having got a non-rusty barbell and rebuilding the squat rack) and a short and a longer run. Well, that's the idea - steady base, building distance so the oly tri race distances aren't so scary. Plus winter weights (with a run warmup) because (1) explosivity and jump, (2) minimising any lean losses from the fatloss gig, (3) I just really enjoy outdoor clanky weights in the winter, it gets me right in my Iron John gene ;)
