Nominative determinism

"An di" is apparently Vietnamese for "go, eat".  Now I know where I get it from.

I have nothing of substance to say, but I should comment: this caused me to laugh for about half an hour.

(I sometimes feel that I toss LJ entries down the rabbit hole, and wonder if other people feel that they do, too. This is one of those times where the response is deep and abiding amusement, which doesn't always translate to a worthwhile comment.)

And indeed my reply, which is also of no substance other than to "heh" back atcha, is another fairly insubtantial thing.

Gods, how much bandwidth is wasted in this sort of thing? And in "ack/threadjack" replies?

On which note, have you seen the trailers for "The Number 23" ?

M'man [livejournal.com profile] fings once read that the vast majority of all human interaction boils down to "Are you still alive? I'm still alive. It's good to be alive, we two, who are alive. You still alive?"

Never even heard of it. [Heads over to IMDb] Aha. Whoa. And, shit, when the Hell did Jim Carrey get craggly?

Waiting for Godot, in other words. Or a bunch of ping/ack exchanges, which is also most of what tech gear does.

Didn't he look like that around his Lemony Snicket work? Suits him, in a raddled predatory kind of way.

(Sorry about the heavy delay in responding. /bin/busy)

I think it's more the badass vibe he gives off in the "23" picture. I mean, "I wouldn't fuck with that guy" is simply not a thought I've ever had about Jim Carrey before.
