2009 Race Planning

It's getting time to think about 2009's race calendar.  I'm aiming to do 2-3 olympics and probably 3 sprints this season (no more long stuff: I enjoy the training for these distances far more).  And the Great West Run, just because.  Bala or Perranporth will probably be my end-of-season oly, and that's in mid-September.  The GWR precludes doing New Forest this year, so I'm looking for a couple of high-season olys.  Is there a date for Burnham yet?

If you want a nice sprint on rolling Devon roads, 10th May is the Exe Valley Tri (pool swim) - I'll be marshalling again and promise to wave :)

I haven't quite given up on the idea of a middle distance next year, but it depends on how the winter training goes. I really wanted to do new york, but that's out of the question financially.

I'm definitely doing Tranent, East Fife and Haddington, definitely NOT doing New Year's. That leaves the high season up for grabs, but I'd really like to do Gullane and a couple more open water events (at least one more Oly). I'm hoping to do the Loch Lomond Highland Games if they're running again: Loch Ore OW sprint if not. Has the 2009 calendar been published yet?

I don't think the calendar's finalised yet. Yay for not doing New Year - in fact, isn't the list you've posted remarkably free of stupid zig-zag swims?

Quite deliberately, I assure you.
