Long weekend...

Just what the doctor ordered: a long weekend away chilling out. There was drunkenness. There was Wii Bowling (
gedhrel I'll get you next time!) and surprisingly frantic boxing.
There were movies good (Layer Cake: Michael Gambon's delicious villain is right up there with Noel Coward's Mr. Bridger) and movies bad (The Zombie Diaries: A sort of British Blair Zombie Project so badly acted it feels like a bunch of mates doing it for a laugh; moments of scare and grue don't offset the shambling direction, and the man-is-worse-than-any-monster theme has been done a fair old bit). Curiously, both had Serbian villains, sort of.
There was good food, good beer, and bad flatulence. There were no bocking injuries this time round...
And there was winter surf, rippy and hard work on Saturday, all mush no push on Sunday. Saturday's was nice, some good rides, but it was relentless: the world was reduced to sun, sky, foam and noise. Sunday filled my traditional pattern with the best rides being the first and last - and I think I've sussed that I need to get my weight back more to catch the waves, and to paddle a hell if a lot harder.
Beautiful sunsets with a pale sun on a hammered iron sea, silhouette surfers and that damn noise. Like
xeenysays, it's good for the soul.
