Fire alarm (caused by the UPS) leads to UPS shutdown at 5am; thirty servers and critical infrastructure turn off.  Bike breaks another spoke.  Air-con failure at a satellite server room.  Lift breaks down with me in it, while fetching a bunch of fans for said server sauna.  Cue dramatic escape with the red phone and door-prising and jumping and everyfink.

C'mon day, is that all you got?

I think you may be in some kind of late-90s man-rage movie. Quick, check and make sure you're not being played by Michael Douglas.

Not unless he's hit the pies lately, though I must confess a certain hyper-caffeinated enthusiasm for Excel's conditional formatting which might be indicative of a good postal breakdown. And I'm armed with a banana.

I knew that hanging around on the Zombie Squad forums was dangerous to my mental health. I'm waiting for the dead to rise. It's either that or dinosaurs, I swear.

Oh, hang on, it's the Helpdesk. Ankylosaurs at Dean Clarke House, you say? Gnawing through the network cables?

Groovy. *cracks knuckles*

Turned out there was the evaporating million quid and the World O Train Hassle yet to come, but I was saved from going berserk by the anticipation of a ebay auction ending. Just-in-time consumerism is the glue that holds society together!
