Seems I read recently that one of the promising studies done recently on genetically altered to have Fragile-X may end up being useful in treating Huntington's as well as autism.
The thing about the genetic lottery is that we're all playing it. Some just won't find out for a few more generations how involved in it they are. I've been fighting off serious demons over what I've probably passed on to my offspring, wondering if I'd have had children in the first place if I'd known.
As much as I love animals, I think the research is necessary. I'd elaborate, but I get the feeling you know why as well as I do.
