Finished in 2:12:28 according to my watch - official time to follow. The Freudian slip of "great west rub" was apt as my shorts rubbed through resulting in grim chafing; a quick stop at a St. John's tent for some vaz made it bearable for the last 4 miles. The tap didn't beat me, but a rabbit did - a rabbit worn by an Army PT instructor though so not too embarrassing!

Same sugar profile as a century ride - last leg was done on pure candy.

TEN MINUTES OFF MY TIME! WOO-FUCKING-HOO!

Now I'm enjoying a guilt-free 99 flake waiting for the car park to empty ... here's the proof:

Congrats... There's nothing like finishing is there? Great time!

How long before you start planning for the next hit of the exercise drug?

Sure is a buzz - thought I was going to pack a couple of times but still found myself tearing up the last 200m!

Lots planned - newbie tri, 10k, couple of century rides, maybe a real sprint tri later in the year.

Oh, ick. Dried salt on my eyelashes!

Oooh, shiny! Muchos congratulations.

Is Gnarls Berkeley worth a listen, or did you just go for it because he has a bizarre name?

It was just on the radio while I was lying back in the van! No idea what the rest of the album is like but I suspect that the retro-motown vocal's perfect sync with the relentless beat on Crazy is a lucky fluke.

The official time exactly matches mine: 2 hours, 12 minutes, 28 seconds. 1636th of 2130, the 76th percentile.

Ice baths are evil.

Ah, choclate and no need to run. Isn't post-prandial exercise a wonderful thing?

Congrats on the time. You look far too human in that photo though - I wanted BLOOD! ;-)

Ah, but I'd wiped the crusted sweat off my face with the finishers' t-shirt and necked the finishers' banana so I was almost human... if you wanted blood you need only look between my thighs. But I'm not posting that on the internet. There *are* limits, you know!

good time fella! I'm doing the Stratford-upon-avon one with xeeny on Sunday (note, not challenging him, maybe one day when I stop smoking). I like the meadls surprisingly weighty.

Good luck to both of you! Stratford, if I remember rightly, has plenty of after-race pubs :)
