This haunting image was taken by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (details).  Every single one of us, you and me, all our friends, family and foes, they're all down there on that little blue ball.

It's a decent-sized lump of rock. While this photo was being taken, a Japanese robot probe was en route. It's somewhere in the black between Earth and Moon. How cool is that?

fabulous. Nothing to make you feel more small and humble then to look at your home in such a way.

I wish more people were moved by this sort of sight though.
