Mai laptop haz a sad

The left-side backlight on my laptop is poorly sick: it's flickering more or less randomly (not related to physical, HDD or gadget stimulus that I can find) and it's gone pinky-yellow.  Anyone know a good "disembowel your Compaq Presario V5000" how-to?  If it's not a loose connection, woe and despond descend upon me.

That's me. I didn't realise there were teeny flourescent tubes along the sides. The replacements are cheap but will need solder-fu.
