Typical, bloody typical.

Yesterday was a long day: overtime hefting servers to a new location and reassembling -- 30-kilo lego in a £2 million playset.  Yay!  Followed by helping a neighbour move house, for which I got my pick of the ebayable junk -- and ended up with a rusty but endlessly entertaining fencing foil.

I was, natch, out like a light after all that, and somewhere in the night I knocked out the septum keeper I wear in respectable company.  No problemo!  Just click this spare old hard-disk super-magnet to the end of the sword and wave around under my bed!

...which is the point at which I remember that body piercing jewelery isn't magnetic (go go surgical steel) and have to climb under the bed and fight dust bunnies just like every other time.  En garde, monseiur le duste bunneh!

I am a little scared to ask, but what is a septum keeper. I am thinking you mean your nose piercing.

Yup, it's a little respectable bullet-shaped plug that keeps the piercing open without scaring the natives. It's held in with an O-ring, so a frisky night of stuffing head into pillows and shouting "no! not the zombie kittens!" can dislodge it.
