It's Steampunk Monday so here's a couple of lovelies that I found while hunting for visuals (other than the ubiquitous Steamboy) for a steampunk monowheel SL project.  First, a load of steam-powered bicycles from the basement-engineering magazine Make.  Some beauties in that lot.  And from a less engineering, more style angle (arabis take note) behold the blogly goodness that is Brass Goggles.  Mmm, lovely.  I'll be coming back to this one...

Ooh! I wanna! There's a certain cheerful inventiveness about steam-era America that's just plain fun. And I do like Mike Mignola. A very small serving of substance served up with huge dollops of style. And characters with really, really silly names.

Speaking of projects from people who we know from doing other things, have you seen any Invader Zim? Johnen Vasquez does silly cartoons...

I think that some (all?) of The Amazing Screw-On Head may be available on You Tube in small chunks. Might investigate that later.

I think I may have seen one or two episodes of Invader Zim a few years ago but can't really remember it. I think it was the usual problem of not having the right tv channels at the right time and I've not got into this downloading stuff to watch on my PC thing yet.
