SIS Nocté is a protein-based nighttime recovery drink. It tastes like ass.

The chocolate one tastes like ass with a tantalising hint of PowerBar Chocolate Fudge Protein Bars.

The vanilla one just plain tastes like ass.

Heh - thanks for trying those so I don't have to. I'd seen them advertised and wondered if they'd be any use for post-trapeze/rope recovery, but maybe I'll just give them a miss.

Any comments/reviews on Sports Beans?

Frankly if you're doing stuff that leaves you with DOMS, then any protein soon after or just before bed is fine; either healthy food or a whey shake.

When we were down in Croyde a while back, did you mention you had some natural sport drink recipes or some such like?

I've taken to drinking PowerBar Fitmaxx Protein Drink RTD Vanilla after particularly heavy sessions down the gym, and I'm finding I'm getting less muscle ache the day after. On the downside, after I have one, I'm not hungry which I think might be a false impression.

The natural recipes I have are gloriously vile:

Raw egg, dessertspoon of malt extract, tiny pinch of salt, make up with skimmed milk.

Small can of tuna, small banana, make up with skimmed milk.

Both of those are recovery-type drinks. For activity, watered-down juice with a teeny bit of salt is the classic natural one.

Would have to argue with you on this... The vanilla's better than the choc - you can load it with decaf coffee to make it taste like a c-grade latte which is a definite improvement on ass!

They're both pretty asstastic. Even ass tastes okay with enough coffee.
