I also hate chain letters, and today, this one surfaced at work in the guise of free Sainsbury's vouchers. After I received the third one, I got cross, and sent this to all the senders down the chain:

I refer you all to the Acceptable Use Policy which specifically bans the use of Trust email to forward chain letters. They waste time and resources; I'm sure Sainsbury's need their email servers flooded with drivel as much as we do. Frankly I'm amazed that grown adults still believe this nonsense.

Of course it was only after I sent it that I noticed how many senior executives, consultants, and general bigwigs I'd just insulted.

Anyone need a server administrator?

It was OK until it got to "drivel". After that you're twisting the knife a bit. Much as they may desrve it :-)

Go you! In a way, it's comforting to know that Senior People can be just as stupid as us normal folk, and they certainly need reminding every now and then.
