Merriment and delight from the wonderful world of Wii: http://wiihaveaproblem.com/

Memo to serious gamers - get some grip tape, some climber's chalk and some weightlifter's tacky as well as a very strong lanyard. I predict all of these things, plus modified wiimotes (lightsaber? sword? bo staff? sniper rifle?) and costumes - good gods, Link cosplay at Wii Zelda tournaments - in the very near future.

And given Nintendo's wacky product line, with Nintendogs and the Brain Trainer, I also predict T'ai Wii by next autumn.

If you're serious then go for rosin rather than chalk. Chalk just dampens sweat - rosin actually makes you stick to things!

Looks like someone registered wiidiots.com on 20th November, which I think is a more appropriate domain name.

The N64 used to have some wonderful hacks for its controllers. In pod racer, you could use two controllers and each analagoue stick was the throttle, just like the real thing.

How long will it be before we have 2 Wiimote action for that John Woo affect? Or stick 2 together to get the Darth Maul double ender when they FINALLY get round to a Star Wars game? Or a football game where you strap one to each foot?

And of course when playing link, you need to be on Skype with a Bluetooth headset over your WiFi Network as well for that full "bow nigga" effect.

You already have two things - the wiimote and nunchuck. Sword and shield in Zelda. And in Red Steel, turn your arm and fire gangsta style, and it does too (and you miss everything).

But yes, headset. Broad space. Spotlight. Jedi robes.

Hardly surprising with a special balaclava. :)

Precisely my point. Balaclava and gloves were performance-enhancing technical gear. Jedi robes are all show.

If we were on EyeToy I'd win.

Unless it was the air guitar game.

No, I'd probably win at that too.

He's better at Wishy-Washy than me though ;)

Didn't pre-order. Eleanor was waxing lyrical about it at the party and the reviews all look like the sort of thing I enjoy. I'll let the initial wave of bugs wear out while this Christmas lump of cash in my pocket burns and burns and ouch! ack! alright I'll get one soon!

I'm thinking about getting one at some point in 2007 when they are more easily available and there's more games available. If ExciteTruck (think Burnout 3 (the good one) with monster trucks and ridiculous amounts of air time as you jump off cliffs and stuff) reviews well, that might just be the decider.

If it has Lightsabre/ers in it, I'm there. We can have Saturday night deathmatches.

Just don't ever point the Missus at this comment.

Dear Mr Gates,

I wish to complain: I never wanted a games console. Ever. I always ignore the crappy adverts, even the clever ones.

Now, I have to have one. :D

It's all your fault, because you linked to that site.

Yours, waiting until about March, hoping the need will fade with time,

Shifty.
