The internet is aflutter with images of this woman, a French newsbody called Mélissa Theuriau.  I'm sure you'll already have been spambarded by people sticking her clear, balanced, symmetrical visage across your screens with various flavours of squee attached.  Tritalk have her in the Phwoar! thread; other places have OMGZ I <3 Melissa!!!! froth.

Can I be alone in crying out "Uncanny Valley!" ?  She's too damn pretty, she's a robot or an angel or CGI or something in a dream sent to steal my odd socks! Flee! Flee!

Just when Halle Berry was starting to age and show some decent (and indeed likeable) human traits, this damn creature has to come along.  The world just isn't safe.

She's from Grenoble as well - That's only 3 hours away, so I'm almost certain to help her set up her wifi by the end of the season.

If you search hard enough (and you really don't have to search very hard at all) you'll see that it's not just her face that's, ah, perfect. There's much to appreciate all the way to her tattoo...

When you say "not very hard" you mean "google images her name" really, don't you? Heh. I wonder if French TV has some scary autosmoothing algorithm that they run on her skin? Or just a thick old pack of slap...

The quickness of the TV hand deceives the eye once more. Let me introduce you the the little control called 'skin detail.' A combination of edge detection and filtering which creates illusions. The Skin Gate is used to adjust the band passed by the filter, and Presto! wrinkle-free faces. This is done in the Camera Control Unit (CCU) and is under the direct control of the vision engineer, along with exposure levels, black levels, and colour balance.

Heh. Take a quite pretty face and mangle it through that, and you chaps don't know what you're looking at.

I won't mention 1/4 ProMist either...

Nothing you see on TV is real. Nothing. ;)
