A very helpful swim coaching session with the dsp's in Hogwart's has revealed what I think I may have known already: my kick was a feeble flickering placeholder.  Time for bigger, slower kicks using the correct muscles (straighter legs, use glutes, flexible ankles) and an arm stroke that actually provides power throughout.  Head position was way too low too which was affecting my breathing.  Catchup stroke drill.  Mmm.  I are stiff n sore, and have much work to do.  Good ride afterwards, too.  Pleasant shakedown.

Now, can someone wise in the ways of Lecter let me in on a secret?  You see, I thought the mask he wore was a no-bitey restraint mask, what with him being a complete fecking fruitbat and known for biting the faces off people.  Yet in the latest movie posters, for Hannibal Rising, show a decorated mask like some sort of kabuki demon.  Is this just the poster people being rubbish?

Pleasant shakedown - is that the new code name for Old Bristol Rd? Great to see you - thanks for the company. Wouldn't have missed the descent views for anything. Off for a run now....

The shakedown was at the top, and letting my legs really open out along the Cheddar road at the end. The Old Bristol Road is still a vertiginous bugger!

On the Lecter thing, no it is not just the poster people being rubbish. The root cause of the rubbish is Thomas Harris selling out and writting a trite how Lecter came to be Lecter story with all the substance of a wet tissue when compared to Silence of the Lambs.
In that book Lecter himself says to Starling in response to her trying to pin his condition on a traumatic childhood something like: "Oh, you think you can classify me so easily? There is nothing so simple in my makeup." And he would know (as he was in that book).
As time wore on and the money pored in such literrary complexity has been ditched in favour of a multiplex audience.
