Yes, I'm so chuffed that I've reverted to teh internets stupidest emotional excesses.  Oh noes!!!111

850m set in 24:43.  That's only 50m over my previous best but it's the best this year by a massive margin.  Lungs are working again (thanks to theobromine, I wuv you mister chocolate) and the trailing-hand/hip sync has got a bit extra out of the back of my stroke.  But what were the conditions that made this such a great session?  For posterity and in no particular order, the conditions were 6.5h sleep; ECA 24/200/150mg, couple of NO2 caps and BCAA x4; 10 miles moderate rolling fixed-gear bike on a nice sunny day with good traffic and friendly traffic light goblins; swim mit der kerpowen; 4 more BCAA caps washed down with a whey shake.

So it might be the bike warmup - in which case, other bike/swim days will look good too.  Or it could be the good old eph/empty cardio buzz carrying on into the pool.  Or it might be just the lungs coming back and a recovery of form plus the little skill drills clicking.  Or it could be the simple boost of a nice sunny day after months, bloody months of low grey damp.

Whatever it is, it makes the 1000m Swimathon less appalling, and drives away some of the demons of the damp who have haunted me lately.
