Mad Max meets Milla Jovovich (nice duds!). I thought the second flick sucked, but the trailer for this one makes me interested again. But, the RE films have always had good trailers. I'll try and be charitable about this one despite its previous incarnation.
Ooh, thanks for the heads-up. I have a confession: I'm a Milla Jovovich fan. I really liked her in Fifth Element and I thought she was grand in Joan of Arc. She's got a way of flicking between fragile and ass-kicking that I really like and buckets of intensity; her acting's more European than American - more Beatrice Dalle and Anne Parrilaud. So I'm looking forward tons to Resident Evil: Extinction (actually chilling title, too - crumbs).
Never piss off a Ukranian mutant supermodel with a machete. And in case you come into hand-to-hand combat with her, "Milla is left-handed (but she plays guitar and shoots right-handed)" - so now you know.
On a geekier note, it's interesting to see the Resident Evil franchise move from Raccoon City into the real world. But on a global scale you can't make up every location! Nice how the trailer pans upward to the Umbrella Corporation satellite to give fans that "oh, shit" feeling.

Yet, as I said... "you never know." It could be great fun and highly entertaining. I always try to keep an open mind about these things.
However, above all, it's a sequel. We're talking about the law of diminishing returns here.
I think Andy has it right when he says the bar is low.
Speaking of low bars, Andy have you seen the trailer of the New _Resident Evil_ movie?: (http://63.250.192.43/pub06root4/pub06share16/yahoomovies/0/33747632.mov?StreamID=33747632&b=c9sj7792hinb745dbd700&CG_ID=1556965)

I think she's a decent actress, actually.
