Brain in a jar!

After finding a perfect brain jar in Ikea ("I am Jack's Ikea brain jar" perhaps?) I couldn't resist:

Jar, brain and fluorescein.  The brain is, of all things, a LARP throwing brain.  Someone makes LARP throwing brains, professionally.  I'm in the wrong job.



Fluorescein under black light gives the most wonderful swirls; the brain however was a touch buoyant and needed surgery to make it sink right.  A few pennies pushed into the brainstem weighted it nicely and gives the finished dish a nice coppery tang:

Okay, that's SO much better than coffee.

Glad to hear you're thinking about doing the full bubbler effect on your own. Reviews of the setup you can purchase aren't so wonderful, even if they are good conversation starters.
