Banksy's a sneaky bugger, he's gone and pulled off a steatlh exhibition in the middle of town. Nice one. I might have to swing by and check it out -- I've a soft spot for Banksy, not least because he's bloody good, but mostly because when I was at my dirt-poor-emo-mopey-boy-est, it was his city-centre graffiti that made me smile. Especially the rats.
Geeky awesomeness
Feb. 20th, 2008 10:45 amStar Wars? Russian? Folk art? You want that all in one? Here you go! (Yes, that's R2 in the corner) Though I prefer the War of the Worlds one. Aren't they just awesome?
I dabbled in this style once a few years back and it's surprisingly hard to unlearn realistic rules like perspective. The creatures are magnificent. So's his take on Arnie ("I need your clothes, your boots, and your drasienne.")

Cultural icons
May. 29th, 2007 08:13 amTake one cultural icon and give it to a bunch of artists. The result: this fantastic array of really cool Darth Vader Helmets (I like the rusty rivetty one).
