Can anyone explain this to me? Found on the wall of an Evangelical church building site, this poster reads "Global Warning: The Son Will Return"Now, is it merely apocalyptic froth of the regular sort?
Or is it a suggestion that climate change is, in fact, punishment for Man's sinful ways?
Or is it saying that Jesus is coming, so stop with the recycled hemp light-bulbs and get with the prayin', hippies!
(This particular approach to environmentalism, that we'll be Raptured before it all falls apart and Jay-sus wants you to drive that SUV, is particularly morally repellent)
And is it really suggesting that solar forcing is the primary reason for climate change, or am I reading too much into a crappy pun?
I don't understand evangelists.

Date: 2008-03-01 01:45 pm (UTC)It's gotten so bad now that I've downgraded my fret alert for him from one week to two weeks. So, you know, if he ever does get ambushed by zombie manatees, he's going to have to survive by himself for a fortnight before I even start wondering where he is.
