Swim 41:27: Good first half, got noodly in the second half.  Zero viz. Who thought blue buoys was clever?  T1: Golden. Long. The shoe trick worked. Bike 1:16 including transitions I think: An hour and more of playing Wipeout on the bike.  Fast, twisty, with tunnels and ramps. No weapon power-ups. Went out hard and fast. T2: Oh, I can run in those shoes if I have to. Yay.  Run 1:04: I checked my soul in T2 and sent my corpse out to shamble round the run.  Run and walk in the hot sun / I fought the nause and the nause won.  Total 3:11.  Full writeup and photos to come once I'm back at base camp - am still at Charlotte & Liz's making their spare bed smell like wet dog.

Is it true that the docks on the Isle of Dogs are full of dead dogs?

I'll be interested in your stomach's comment on the issue of dead dogs in the water ;-)

Congrats on the shoes.

Those pesky shoes - the T2 dismount was such that I didn't see it before I was on it, and had to clip-clop all the way round the Great Hangar trying not to pitch over...

No but I wanted to all through the run. That was a fuelling mistake - 2 x energy drink, even though my plan was 1 x energy, 1 x water. It was just more convenient not to have to find a tap! Stupid error. The heat on the run then punished me for it.

I wasn't running super-hard. I was too green to run that hard.

Ah well, lesson learned. The main thing is: more running!

The Isle of Dogs is said to be so called, as Henry VIII is suppose to have kept his hunting dogs there...aparently.

I have a vague recollection of seeing some documents somewhere that a fair few hunting type dog skeletons had been excavated a while back in a location that had been mention in some historical mumble jumble somewhere....
