J-horror.  Hair extensions.  That batshit-crazy girl from Battle Royale.
"Our ghoulish Rapunzel does not discriminate between those who harvested her organs and those who harvest her hair at her expense.  Violent fates befall both groups as if both at core are engaged in the same thing; namely, the use of one unfortunate life to better the life of another.  Of course, the notion of hair extensions is undoubtedly far less abhorrent than illegal organ trade, but this line of distinction is precisely what Sono seems intent on blurring. "
Because really, Tokyo Gore Police looks like it makes far too much sense what with being a carnage-fest.  We understand carnage-fests, and the crocodile girl and the eyes-in-test-tubes girl and the absolute hosing of gore is pretty much sensible.  Linear.  Button-mashy, even.

Is there some meme in operation that causes the Japanese to be so damn weird?  Or is it just that we only pick out the weirdness?  Are the Japanese Anglophiles all sat around watching really niche stuff that only ever got shown at 2am on BBC 3 and thinking, "those British are crazy!" [taptaptap]

A female-to-male transsexual e-friend is ready for her first male haircut and is agonising over where to go.  Now, I think she should go to a men's barbers and get a cheap-ass clipper job, because that's what most men do.  Going to a stylist is going to get her a butch haircut, not a male haircut.  She doesn't want to look like a butch dyke, she wants to look like a bloke.  Thoughts?

Metro lawyer boi hair! It's not just [personal profile] ankaret who has a thing for hair: I found this intro and roundup of a recent Hair Fair in Second Life while mooching around looking for some SL gesture accessories.  There's got to be a "thumbs up" and "crikey" gesture out there somewhere.  Why?  So that I could shoot some scraps of SL footage to cut into the Google Earth tours, of course.  Sierra Alpha Delta, hein?  :)

So there you go, virtual hair.  Surprisingly detailed, fancy, subtle moving-and-shiny hair.  And yes, people obsessive enough to buy (for about $0.50 a pop) a tidy style and a bedhead style and swap 'em around as the day - or night - goes on.  It's entertaining to watch just how elaborate the dress-up doll can become if you've got a groaning shedload of tech to play with.

Which reminds me, my avatar needs some better sunglasses...
